We're on Otter Creek, deep in the Nantahala National Forest — part of the Smoky Mountains. The drive in follows Wayah Rd. along the Nantahala River Gorge, with its turns, rapids, and waterfalls. Here's how far the rest of the area is from your dome.

Some of the best of the area: whitewater rafting and kayaking on the Nantahala River, trout fishing in the creeks, rivers, and lakes nearby, and driving the scenic roadways — including the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Tail of the Dragon. The mountains are unbelievable in the fall.
